September 26, Wednesday 8:45 PM Israel was Encouraged!

Israel had  a visitor today: his boss, Dennis Byler, flew in from Alaska to see Israel! Israel was encouraged in the Lord by his visit with Dennis.  God sends encouragements in so many ways, even in trying circumstances. Israel had a much better day with his pain. The doctor came and checked on him this morning and prescribed some new pain medication which seems to have helped. He also got some good , old- fashioned remedy for healing :REST. This was a big boost. Cori was encouraged as well today. They were also able to go over their house plans with Dennis so that we can go forward in the building of their house. Thanks to all of you who have made this incredible need possible!!!

Here is a thought for the day that we feel describes all of you who have seen your brother in need and have lended such gracious hands unto him.  Matthew 25: 31- 40-” When the Son of Man shall come in his glory,.. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry , and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty , and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick , and ye visited me: I was in prison , and ye came unto me.They shall the righteous answer Him , saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Insomuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

  1. As the day ends here I am wondering how the pain control and healing is going for you. Just read my Scripture for the evening, and am reminded again of God’s faithfulness to us in every situation. It is an encouragement to so many to hear of your and Cori’s praise and continued faith, an example of spiritual maturity and knowledge of God’s truth. I am going to bed now with this little chorus that came to mind…. and then I thought of the 2 of you…Praying God will continue to bless, and be your comfort, peace and rest. My Lord knows the way through the wilderness,
All I have to do is follow.
My Lord knows the way through the wilderness,
All I have to do is follow.
Strength for today is mine all the way,
And all that I need for tomorrow.
My Lord knows the way through,
All I have to do is follow.

  2. Thank you for the updates! We care so much and often check to see how Israel and Cori are doing throughout the day. Our little children (ages 7 and under) also care, and I have heard them praying for “Mr. Hale”. May the Lord bless you both, Israel and Cori, as you shine for Him through your suffering.

  3. Enjoy the daily updates and miss them when not posted. So good to see Mr. Byler come to visit. Such a wonderful and Godly person he is indeed. Glad they are finding something to help with the pain management and sleep. Sleep is such a wonderful healer. Prayers continue from here in Ohio.

  4. I am praying for you, Israel, and Cori. I learned of you and what happened from my daughter, Toby, in Anchorage. Coincidentally, I am an old friend of Dennis’s grandparents – now just his grandmother, Emma – and I will have my Mennonite church put you on its prayer list! Mt. Vernon Mennonite in Kirkwood, PA.
