September 21, Friday Evening 10:00- Israel’s Condition

Israel and Cori have had a challenging last 24 hours. Israel was in extreme  pain last night even after his blood transfusion. All night long he battled. Finally, at about 11:30 this morning a nurse from the pain control center came and gave a huge dose of pain-killer. Israel’s pain immediately subsided. He has continued to be a little better with pain during the day today but they are still concerned about his very high blood pressure. He was transferred to a new room where there is a cardiology monitoring system to monitor his high heart rate. Tonight he is very worn out after getting very little sleep all night. We can continue to pray for them.

Cori shares that Israel continues to turn to the Lord for help in his suffering and often includes his thanks to God for sparing his life. Cori says a big  AMEN  to that!

They passed their time today reading your encouraging emails and notes. It helped passed the time for them.

Here a closing thought for this post. It is from the book of Job, a man who suffered many things which God allowed in his life.   Job 2:9, 10 -“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What ? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”

  1. God bless you Israel and Cori. There are many who have your in our thoughts and prayers today. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and said a tearful prayer to the Almighty Power of Heaven and Earth asking for him to gently touch you with grace and love and relieve your pain. This too shall pass, my friend, don’t give up hope, never, never, never give up. A restful good night to you both.

  2. Thank you for the update today. Cori God be with you and strengthen as you continue to minister to Israel. I am glad they finally got his pain under control and we do pray for a good nights rest for the both of you. We praise the Lord for your expression of trust and love for Jesus and knowing HE is there with you and caring for you. Here in Willow we are experiencing a lot of flooding due to all the rain this month. We had sunshine today for six hours and then it began to rain again. Another weather system is coming in form the west bringing more wind and rain. I am glad it is not snow. BUT that is coming we know. This is Alaska. Just thought you would like to know what is going on here around us. Keep praising the Lord. He will see you through this challenge and bring you forth as gold . He surely works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. He plants his feet upon the shore and rides upon the storm.I used to think that was a scripture verse but it is a poem based on the scripture text ” your thoughts are not my thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 55:8 Knowing Giod is in control gives us cause to rest completely in His ARMS!! God be with you dear ones. hugs from the Skinner’s

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
    He restoreth mysoul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousenss for HIS NAME SAKE.” Ps 23:1-3

  4. Dear Israel & Cori,

Greetings in Jesus’ worthy name! I guess you two will never know who is aware of your situation, and what an impact it has made on people. I have been reading the posts and now have a chance to comment. I don’t know you, Israel, but the Rubio’s stayed in our home some years back, in considering our fellowship for their family, so I am acquainted with this dear family (Betty Byler heard of your accident and so called us since she knew we knew you). I hadn’t realized Cori had married (only Heidi) but I can see the Lord had a beautiful match for her! He also foreknew this trial you are now facing, and though words fail me, I can trust in His might and power to carry you through until that day! Our God is able to hold the universe in His hands and surely He will hold you up too! We are praying for you as a family here in New York, and are confident that He Who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it, and will care for you as only He can.

With love for you both, in Christ,

  5. Israel and Cori, We continue to pray for you and especially now that the pain would be brought under control. Though we cannot comprehend any of God’s plan in this….we KNOW that He HAS a plan and will give you both the strength to carry you through. Thank you for all the updates, it helps to know and pray more effectively. May God give you His extra special grace today.

We have finished the biking part of our trip and will be heading back to Conneticut today to spend time with family.

  7. Thank you for the updates and pictures. Whoever is responsible for this wonderful tool, we thank you for your time and energy put into the site. It is a wonderful way to keep others informed. We are grateful to keep in touch this way. God bless and don’t lose hope, Nothing is too hard for God.

  8. I just can’t imagine all that you and Cori are going thru every day. Makes me feel so wimpy when I feel sore from barn chores, stub my toe or bend my nails beyond the quik digging veggies. I’m so relieved to hear they are getting your pain under control. You two are a miracle in my eyes and I pray for you and all that you two endure daily. I wish there was a way I could spare you some of your pain, stress, anxiety or even exhaustion but alas God has not asked this of me. Blessed are you both for being there for each other. All my love and prayers.
