September 20 , Thursday Evening 10:00 Israel’s Day

Today has been a challenge for Israel and Cori. Israel is struggling to cope with the pain. His heart rate has been very high all day and the only reason the doctors can determine why is due to his high level of pain. The picture is of them hooking him up for a blood transfusion . They felt that it would help his oxygen level  and help his heart rate. They are praying that he does not have a clot in his lung or any infection. They still are looking to the Lord and Israel is hanging in there.  Cori says” that God is gently caring for them”.

One thing we failed to make clear in our last reports is that Israel’s amputation surgery yesterday  was on both legs and was done above the knees due to the lack of tissue and muscle on the bone from the impact of the accident.

You can pray for Cori too that she can get some sleep  as she was up all night with Israel. She is very worn physically and emotionally.

A thought for today comes from Romans 8: 35, 37 _ ” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress”…. “Nay , in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” ( KJV)

  1. Dear Israel and Cori, One of our very favorite Ch*nese words is “fangxin”, which basically means to lay down your heart. Keep placing it all in His hands. We are sending up many earnest and loving thoughts on your behalf from our little corner of the globe. Mark and Judy R.

  2. I am sorry, I cannot stop my tears. I know without a doubt, that our Lord Jesus Christ is with this couple as they go deal with the consequences of the accident. God bless them!

  3. The Lord is very nigh unto you at this time, as I am sure you can feel. It is obvious to me that God is showing Himself very strong for you both. We continue to pray for you. We admire your faith, as it must be very strong to endure this affliction. I do not want to speak presumptuously on God’s behalf, but I truly believe that this affliction is not God’s purpose – it is His means of accomplishing His purpose, and His purpose is that you both may know love, faith, joy and knowledge of Him that would not be possible without this affliction. The affliction is great – seemingly uncomprehendable. But the reward will be yet greater.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and our strength, a VERY present help in trouble.
Psalm 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Psalm 30:5b Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Lamentations 3:23 (His mercies) are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.

May God Himself be your portion during this time and always.

  4. Just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you, Isreal and Cori. We were so sorry to hear of the accident. God was near then as he will continue to be. We are interceading on behalf of Isreals pain. Even the strongest of people feel weak, in pain. May the light of Jesus presence envelop you both. We will pray for sweet rest for you both.

  5. Dear Cori & Israel we are praying for you… our eyes are not dry nor our faith weak in all the
Lord our God hath ordained for you. Be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart.

May the Lord be ever present with you,

  6. Israel & Cori, We are praying for you that God would give you grace & strength to go through this time together for His glory & honor. We do pray that His will may be accomplished, whatever that may be. Keep looking to Him for healing & direction for your lives. Wish I could give you, Cori, a big hug, but this has to do for now. So may the Lord’s blessings be upon you. And I pray that you would have a good night & that Israel’s pain would be subsided. Love to you.
