September 16 th, Sunday evening, 8:30 Israel’s Day

Israel says, ” I don’t deserve all of this. God has been so good to me.” These are Israel’s words today. He feels overwhelmed with all the love and support from all of you. He and Cori encouraged one another today as they shared their needs and shared how he feels not handsome now without his legs. Cori assured him that she would marry him all over again!

He is struggling greatly with a rash that has started all over his body today. The nurses are trying to determine the cause and he is very itchy all over. We can pray that they may determine the cause of this. His pain level  fluctuated today between a 5-10 pain level but it has been bearable. Cori told him about his surgery tomorrow and he was fine about that.

Cori is still doing well. Kind people there in Seattle have been providing them food and encouragement and are promising to help them out with those needs this week. Cori and her mother who is with her have an apartment near the hospital so they don’t have to be far . They have that lodging for the next several days and will then see about what happens next. A car has been donated for their use as well.

We can all pray for this surgery tomorrow as they amputate more of his legs at about 8:00 AM. The Lord is able to give the doctors wisdom as they determine what would be the best for Israel’s future. ” If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally , and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith,, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is a like a wave of the sea driven with he wind and tossed.” James 1:5,6

A good thought for the day: In Job 1: 21 Job said, ” …The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. “This is a good testimony of a man in the Bible who still would praise God even after the most difficult situations in his life. Satan thought that Job would not bless  God but curse God .  God found Job a man who did not sin with his lips in accusing God of being of unfair.

  1. Our family has been impacted in the past by Nick Vujicic. While we should not compare ourselves to other people, to make ourselves feel better, Nick is a tremendous example of godly beauty/ handsomeness. Disfigurement is quickly replaced by amazement and awe at this man’s testimony and vitality, and his love for the Lord and life. By the very fact life has been spared, I’m pretty sure it’s a safe conclusion to derive that God has more ministry for one Mr. Israel Hale and his wife Cori. And I for one, cannot wait to see this journey unfold. May God give strength, comfort, peace and His joy as this day goes forward. …..oh, and praying too God gives His wisdom to the drs caring for Israel, and doing the surgery today too. Many here are praying, from Blissfield (MI) Baptist Church and beyond….Diane Bailey (Jon Bailey’s Mom)

  2. I was thinking and praying for you this morning, and these verses came to my mind,
keep looking to Jesus, And remember the sufferings of this present time are but for a season,
and someday, all sorrow and suffering and pain, will come to an end and we can see Jesus face-to-face that will be a glorious day we are praying for you and be faithful to the end.
Psa 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Psa 121:2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

  3. I do not know your family, but you are in my prayers.
The comments about Israel felling itchy reminds me of when I had had surgery and afterwards was reacting to the tyre of painkillers they gave me. Once I went off of them the rash/itchiness cleared up rather quickly. Just a thought and something to ask the doctors about.

  4. Cori, my husband and I have never had the privilege of meeting you. We know Israel and many others in his family and extended family from a ministry in western AK, Kako Retreat Center. We now reside down states, but keep up with the family in Palmer. We would like to let you know how much we are encouraged by reading and hearing of God’s mighty work in your lives and your testimony to praise and glorify Him. Thank you for living boldly! Matthew 5:13a “Ye are the salt of the earth…14a Ye are the light of the world…16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” You are a living testimony to so many. We are praying for you and Israel as you adjust to the many challenges.
    May God be Glorified,
John and Rebecca Erickson (Miss Becky)

  5. Dear Israel and Cori,
We want you to know, that your testimony of trust in the faithfulness of God has strengthened and impacted our lives so greatly that truly we can see Gods great hand in redeeming good from such a tragedy. The inspirations of faith as coming from the hand of our Lord through you, is a blessing to others who marvel that His sustaining power is so great!!! We are praying throughout the day for you both, and hardly a moment goes by when you are not in our thoughts and prayers. The pictures of you two, are beautiful as well as the love you have expressed for each other is humbling.
Israel your words ” I don’t deserve all of this. God has been so good to me.” are so wonderful, only Jesus could put such words in a mans heart, they have truly touched us! May His strength be found to be yours both now and everyday of your life. In Love-The Osbornes
