September 30, Sunday Evening, 7:00 PM Israel’s Progress

Israel & my Sunday was a day of rest .The early part of the morning was interrupted by many different care personnel, but it quieted down as the morning went on.

Israel was again blessed with continued freedom from pain today, though he has been experiencing some phantom pains as his nerves & legs are healing. He was able to get a LOT of much needed rest.

The doctors still have some concern about his rapid heart rate which persists.

Israel is growing anxious to return home but as of right now we don’t have any details on a return trip home.

Israel & I are able to see God’s overpowering love in all that we face daily & how happy we are to have such a loving Father!!!

We give each of you are love & greetings!

Israel & Cori

September 28, Friday Evening 10:31 PM Israel’s Smile!

Yes, it’s very good to see a smile on Israel’s face; this picture was taken just after a long refreshing shower he took today!

God has definitely given both of us His extra grace as we’ve been walking through this traumatic Change in our lives.

Israel is still experiencing some pain, though on a lesser degree than he has. He asks for continued prayer that his heart rate would return to its normal pace. Every day he feels like a little more is healing. A nurse commented today that the progress he is making in healing & movement is not the norm so soon after injury & surgery. Well, we know the Great Physician, & He does Wonderful work!!!

We thank each of you for ” standing next to us” through all your kind thoughts, prayers, & gifts.

May The Lord bless each of you,

Israel & Cori

Here is a thought for this day. It is a good reminder that someone posted today about the wildernesses in our life and how God’s  faithfulness is present.

My Lord knows the way through the wilderness,
All I have to do is follow.
My Lord knows the way through the wilderness,
All I have to do is follow.
Strength for today is mine all the way,
And all that I need for tomorrow.
My Lord knows the way through,
All I have to do is follow.

September 26, Wednesday 8:45 PM Israel was Encouraged!

Israel had  a visitor today: his boss, Dennis Byler, flew in from Alaska to see Israel! Israel was encouraged in the Lord by his visit with Dennis.  God sends encouragements in so many ways, even in trying circumstances. Israel had a much better day with his pain. The doctor came and checked on him this morning and prescribed some new pain medication which seems to have helped. He also got some good , old- fashioned remedy for healing :REST. This was a big boost. Cori was encouraged as well today. They were also able to go over their house plans with Dennis so that we can go forward in the building of their house. Thanks to all of you who have made this incredible need possible!!!

Here is a thought for the day that we feel describes all of you who have seen your brother in need and have lended such gracious hands unto him.  Matthew 25: 31- 40-” When the Son of Man shall come in his glory,.. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry , and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty , and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick , and ye visited me: I was in prison , and ye came unto me.They shall the righteous answer Him , saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Insomuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

” Our father up above is looking down in love.”

September 25th, Tuesday Evening, 8:45 PM Another Challenging Day In Pain

Israel asks for continued prayer regarding a solution to the pain he

continues to suffer with. It seems the doctors and nurses are not able

to come to a good pain control solution.

He has been in bed all day in an attempt to keep the pain bearable .

We again want to thank each of you for your love, care, and prayers,

Through all this, it means a lot to both of us & Israel wants to give

a personal thanks to each of you.

Every day we read and are encouraged  by the many kind emails and

words of comfort people send us.

Trusting in our Heavenly Father’s hand,

Israel & Cori

September 24, Monday Evening 9:30 PM Israel’s Day

The healing process is definitely slow! Today Israel mostly stayed in bed and was very tired. He met with the surgeon today who said that he was pleased with the healing process of Israel’s legs. The pain is still pretty intense at times and they are still trying to figure how to keep his heart rate under control. Please continue to pray for them as the reality of this new life begins to set in for Israel and Cori .

The need for a place to keep the horses has been met. A big “thank you ” to all that offered.  One more need that could be met through you all would be to find a inexpensive four-wheeler that he could get around his property on. Note: It has to be one that is able to be operated by the handlebars mostly. This would be such a wonderful blessing if someone could come up with one at a reasonable price. You can contact David Hale at 907-232-3007, or send an email to the  account by clicking on the wedding picture.

Here is a thought for this wonderful day God has made.

Even with the pain and reality of the uncertain future we can trust the words of Romans 8:28 _ ” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ” This allows us to trust that God will even work all these things for Israel’s good and to glorify Himself.

September 23, Sunday Evening, 8:15 PM: First Day in a Wheelchair!

Here is the newest  update on Israel. It seems Israel did a little too much today in being 15min. in his wheelchair & then sitting up in bed a little too long . He’s been in a lot of pain tonight, & the nurses are trying to get it under control.

It’s one step forward and two back- but we know this painful healing period will pass.

Israel again says “God has been SO good in sparing my life”

Prayer IS changing things!

Here is a thought for the day: We know our enemy, the devil, goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he can devour. Romans tells us that if God be for us who then can be against us? That means that all things have a purpose in eternity and our unknowns God has already planned. Some day around the throne of Jesus Christ we too will understand the unknowns of this earth.

Scriptures: 1 Peter 5: 8 and Romans 8: 31

September 23, Sunday Morning : Israel is Up!

Israel is finally doing a little better . He is sitting in his wheelchair for the first time this morning . What a blessing to see him up and at it. The prayer right now is for wisdom for the doctors as they try to get his high blood pressure still under control. They are still working on getting more relief for   the pain as well . Israel is getting ready to start moving again as you can see from the pictures. He was offered to go outside this morning in his wheelchair. As you can see from his face he is one happy man!!! He is very thankful for all of your prayers and he really feels that God has answered them and given him relief for this Sunday.

” It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”Lamentations 3: 22-23

September 22, Saturday Morning,9:30 Sweet Sleep!

Finally some sweet rest! God gave us a very considerate nurse last night who came in only when it was a must, & tried ,with great success , to give Israel time to sleep.

His pain has lessened, but it is still very much there.

There is not much new besides sleep; but we will keep you posted. Thank you all for your interest in what is going on in our lives.

We know God never moves without purpose or plan when trying His servant & molding a man!

Finding rest in Christ,

Israel & Cori

September 21, Friday Evening 10:00- Israel’s Condition

Israel and Cori have had a challenging last 24 hours. Israel was in extreme  pain last night even after his blood transfusion. All night long he battled. Finally, at about 11:30 this morning a nurse from the pain control center came and gave a huge dose of pain-killer. Israel’s pain immediately subsided. He has continued to be a little better with pain during the day today but they are still concerned about his very high blood pressure. He was transferred to a new room where there is a cardiology monitoring system to monitor his high heart rate. Tonight he is very worn out after getting very little sleep all night. We can continue to pray for them.

Cori shares that Israel continues to turn to the Lord for help in his suffering and often includes his thanks to God for sparing his life. Cori says a big  AMEN  to that!

They passed their time today reading your encouraging emails and notes. It helped passed the time for them.

Here a closing thought for this post. It is from the book of Job, a man who suffered many things which God allowed in his life.   Job 2:9, 10 -“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What ? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”

September 20 , Thursday Evening 10:00 Israel’s Day

Today has been a challenge for Israel and Cori. Israel is struggling to cope with the pain. His heart rate has been very high all day and the only reason the doctors can determine why is due to his high level of pain. The picture is of them hooking him up for a blood transfusion . They felt that it would help his oxygen level  and help his heart rate. They are praying that he does not have a clot in his lung or any infection. They still are looking to the Lord and Israel is hanging in there.  Cori says” that God is gently caring for them”.

One thing we failed to make clear in our last reports is that Israel’s amputation surgery yesterday  was on both legs and was done above the knees due to the lack of tissue and muscle on the bone from the impact of the accident.

You can pray for Cori too that she can get some sleep  as she was up all night with Israel. She is very worn physically and emotionally.

A thought for today comes from Romans 8: 35, 37 _ ” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress”…. “Nay , in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” ( KJV)
